After serving 21+ years in the United States Air Force, my life has been shaped by movement — deployments, TDYs, and more PCS orders than I could ever count. As an M‑60 Gunner in Security Forces, I had the privilege of serving as a Stabilization Force in countries I couldn’t even pronounce at the time.
Life came fast, duty came first, and time… it flew.
Now retired, fate (via one final PCS) has me hanging my hat in this magnificent Grand Canyon State. Arizona has become home — not just in address, but in spirit.
Here, I’ve established my Solutions Based Therapy practice, where I facilitate the Mace Method™, a gentle, self‑preserving protocol that helps people release emotional pain without needing to share personal details.
It’s the work I was meant to do — the work that honors every chapter of my service, my heart, and my calling.
In between exploring my passion and visiting the towns that make this state extraordinary, I’ve carved out time to share the imprint each experience leaves — my story, my lesson, my moment of clarity.
This section is a living archive of those journeys: my insights, my reflections, my humor, my heart, and what resonates with me as a veteran, a practitioner, and a patriot.
Welcome to Journey Journals — a collection of my experiences as I travel through Arizona’s small towns, sharing what resonates with gratitude, curiosity, and deep respect for the communities that make this state so grand.
A few weekends ago, I had the chance to do the full tourist experience in Cochise County, town of Bisbee, hindsight tells me it’s the kind of place where outsiders quietly take notes on what a splendid community looks like.
From the moment I arrived, I felt it: There’s something undeniably special about Bisbee. Visitors — myself included — say it the moment they step into town.
Maybe it’s the vibrant, colorful buildings full of character, untouched by HOA finger‑pointing.
Maybe it’s the way locals give each other that micro‑glare of recognition while tourists stand jaw‑dropped on E. Allen Street.
Maybe it’s the weekend traffic heading toward the Lavender Pit Copper Mine, or the even the way the ghost tour feels inviting and insightful.
But honestly… the moment I saw OK Street, I laughed out loud and thought, “Okay… Bisbee keeps it real”
While admiring the Art Wall, I wondered how many locals actually climb those famous 1,000 stairs. If I lived here, I’d probably take them for granted too.😊
In towns like Bisbee, life moves at a pace that lets you feel things — the good, the heavy, scary, the treasured, etc..
Small Towns Carry Their Own Kind of Weight.
I lived in Alamogordo while stationed at Holloman AFB — another small town with its own rhythm. Born and raised a the city that never sleeps.. then being stationed in Alamogordo... Gosh...I adjusted...and learned a lot ....One thing that stands out is.....
Small towns are unique in how they approach mental health.
Everyone knows everyone. Stories travel. Details slip out inadvertently. Privacy can feel impossible; something as simple as, " I saw your car, parked in so so's plaza... can open pandoras box.... NO one... deserves... this type of attention....
When life gets overwhelming, no matter the size of the town or where you hang your hat, people deserve support that honors their community’s rhythm — without sacrificing confidentiality.
That’s what makes my practice unique.

Because truly — the only “little” thing about Bisbee was the amount of time I had to explore. I’m already looking forward to returning in the fall.

HOT DANG! (Pun intended) .... Casa Grande is culture, people, and climate as enigmatic as the Ruins I had the privilege of visiting themselves!
You can’t just define its magic; you have to experience it. (Spotted Owls and all).
Somewhere between the desert hush and the human warmth, you realize the mystery isn’t meant to be solved — it’s meant to be felt. And in that feeling, you meet Souls so rare you Know.. they will stay with you forever — one of them, a spirit named Rain.
Last weekend, I found myself standing in front of the Casa Grande Ruins, letting the desert wind carry stories older than any of us. There’s something grounding about that sacred place, (which I later learned, sits near the 33 parallel)...
Gosh... folks... Casa Grande — is a town where history isn’t just preserved, it’s felt.
The moment you arrive. The quiet dignity of the Ruins, or the way I witnessed families gather ....Maybe it’s the familiar rhythm of weekend traffic near Florence Boulevard, or the way people greet each other like they’ve known one another for decades.
Casa Grande has a way of reminding you that life is both ancient and immediate.
I am familiar with towns like this… Casa Grande resonates with a pace that lets you feel things — the good, the heavy, and the sacred.
And when life gets overwhelming, people here deserve support that honors their community’s rhythm.

Just this week, I received a renewal notice from the Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners — a gentle reminder of a chapter that shaped me deeply.
In my not‑so‑distant past, I had the privilege of providing home‑health occupational therapy for children on the autism spectrum across Arizona’s small towns — tiny hands learning big skills, families doing their best, and communities wholeheartedly supporting one another.
There’s something beautifully simple about Arizona City. Maybe it’s the way neighbors look out for each other, or how you can’t drive down Sunland Gin Road without seeing a familiar face.
Maybe it’s the hum of weekend traffic heading toward Casa Grande, or the laughter of children gathering at local parks with that unmistakable small‑town joy.
Arizona City is a place where its residents and northern visitors share an unspoken understanding — that fast‑track living isn’t necessary for genuine enrichment. And like all small towns, emotional privacy matters deeply.

Knowing my fascination with rocks…My Spouse guided my driving here completely by surprise! This ended up being a rock‑hounding fascination, climatic treasure!!!
There’s something magical about searching the earth for hidden beauty, and Safford embodies that same energy.
I got to interact with a Beautiful Spirit that solidified the experience….
Maybe it’s the backdrop of Mount Graham, or the way locals gather at Discovery Park. Maybe it’s the weekend rhythm of people heading toward the mountains, or the quiet pride of a town that knows exactly who it is.
Safford is a place where nature and community intertwine, so much so… that the innates of your Being.. feels… called .. driven in a sense back.. to its true essence.. I am not sure.. that’s my personal experience, my personal emotional response… what I felt .. Aravaipa Canyon well.. it solidified that for me…
And like all small towns, emotional privacy is sacred.
